Hydrogeology can also benefit from use and developments of geotechnical tools, among those:
-
wireline deep drilling, coring, sampling
-
tools for in-situ test (CPT, Dilatometer, Permeameter)
-
Undisturbed Sampling Of water
-
installation of monitoring instrumentation
Furthermore Geotechnical/Geomechanical approach is mandatory for the evaluation of the effects of withdrawal of fluids (water, gas, oil) from the subsoil, ranging from few meters (well-points, shallow wells) to the evaluation of effects of deep withdrawal (SUBSIDENCE).
Deep Environmental surveys (deep aquifers and aquitards) can be studied as well using typical geotechnical approach.
