Hydrogeology can also benefit from use and developments of geotechnical tools, among those:

  • wireline deep drilling, coring, sampling

  • tools for in-situ test (CPT, Dilatometer, Permeameter)

  • Undisturbed Sampling Of water

  • installation of monitoring instrumentation

Furthermore Geotechnical/Geomechanical approach is mandatory for the evaluation of the effects of withdrawal of fluids (water, gas, oil) from the subsoil, ranging from few meters (well-points, shallow wells) to the evaluation of effects of deep withdrawal (SUBSIDENCE).

Deep Environmental surveys (deep aquifers and aquitards) can be studied as well using typical geotechnical approach.
